ISO 16345:2014 establishes guidelines for evaluating the thermal performance and pumping head of various cooling tower types, including open-circuit, closed-circuit, mechanical draft, wet, wet/dry, natural draft, and fan-assisted natural draft cooling towers.
This standard defines rating boundaries specifically for mechanical draft, open-circuit, and closed-circuit cooling towers.
Important Note: ISO 16345:2014 does not encompass the testing and rating of:
Closed-circuit towers where the process fluid undergoes a phase change within
the heat exchanger. This includes situations where the fluid changes from liquid
to vapor or vice versa during the cooling process.
Closed-circuit towers where the thermophysical properties of the process fluid
are not well-defined or exhibit significant variations.
